Ooooh, I just made a discovery. If I click on the name of the person who posted, it goes right to their lj. Yeah, I know, whoever reads this will laugh or roll their eyes, but I *am* learning!

We moved to the suburbs a few years ago because of schooling. The school system in Brooklyn s*cks (okay, the American school system on the whole needs remodeling, but there are some places better than others). Well, yesterday I found out that there are idiots here, too. Our neighbors have a six year old girl who yesterday started a town camp (summer camp run by the township). We live in a quiet development off a busy main road. They never picked her up this morning but when her mother dropped her off, the administration promised to make sure the child got on the bus going home.

She did get on the bus. But the moron bus driver let a SIX YEAR OLD off on the main road instead of inside the development. There was nobody waiting for her (obviously, since it was the wrong drop-off point) and he just let her off the bus and left her there on the MAIN ROAD. A six year old. What kind of a moron is he? He should be shot. Certainly should not be driving a school bus. Thank god a neighborhood teenager saw the girl and helped her get home (while the parents were frantically trying to reach the camp to no avail). After finally getting a hold of someone they were told it's not their problem, take it up with the bus company. The cops in our town (who have nothing better to do than set speed traps or hang out in construction zones) said there was nothing they could do either, they didn't know what the "protocol" for this situation was.

I guess small town life means small town brains? Sheesh.
